Intense red berry, currant and cardamom nose. The palate is full-bodied with ripe red currant, lots of cardamom and nutmeg from the wood ageing supporting intense candided fruit flavours. Well balanced acidity with firm, ripe tannins that would benefit from 18 months aging. The finish is very long and complex with notes of dried fruit, spice and whole wheat toast.
Try with roasted duck breasts, beef goulash and partridge or pheasant.
